54 Permanent vaccination centres set up in district

Also directs all SDMs to set up call centres in their respective sub divisions for calling and motivating such persons

As a large number of residents are yet to receive their second jab of Covid19 vaccination, the District Administration have evolved a multi pronged strategy wherein 54 permanent vaccination centres have been set up in the district, besides the SDMs have been directed to set up call centres through which they would call such persons and motivate them to get fully vaccinated.
While providing information, Deputy Commissioner Ms. Sonali Giri stated that a total of 124000 persons are yet to receive their second jab of Covid19 vaccination. She said that sadly, people believe that the Covid19 has become thing of the past, which is not true. She said that everyone knows that with the new variant ‘Omicron’, people should not take Covid19 lightly and should get fully vaccinated by visiting their nearest centre.
She further stated that in the interest of public, 54 permanent vaccination centres have been set up in the district, where people can visit on any working day for vaccination.
Ms. Sonali Giri further stated that 21026 people are yet to receive their second jab of Covid19 vaccine in Rupnagar Urban. 
She informed that some people still have their misconception that Covid19 vaccination is not safe and that is why, they are not coming forward. “Such people should understand that if anyone wants to travel to any part of the globe, they require a Vaccine Passport Certificate, that they would get only when they are fully vaccinated,” she said while adding that even for visiting Gurudwara in Shri Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan, they need to be fully vaccinated.
