Mayor inaugurates Community centre at Sector 56

Sh. Ravi Kant Sharma, Mayor, Chandigarh today inaugurated Community centre at sector 56, here today in the presence of Ms. Anindita Mitra, IAS, Commissioner, Sh. Satish Kumar Kainth, area councilor, other councilors and prominent persons of the area.
Having 796 squares meter built up area, this community centre has been constructed with latest specifications and equipped with all the modern facilities at a cost of Rs. 279 lacs. Facilities in ground floor including hall for gathering of 200 persons, library, Sampark centre, toilets for ladies and gents while bride/groom room, gym hall, dormitory, toilet blocks have been provided in the first floor. Parking space for nearly 50 cars has been provided inside the compound area of community centre.
While addressing the gathering, the Mayor said that the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh has committed to provide world class infrastructure and facilities to the citizens of Chandigarh. He said that besides providing best community centers in all the sectors, the MCC is developing green belts and parks for the ease of living of local residents.
In addition to that, the Mayor laid foundation stone of Green belt, backside of civil dispensary, sector 56. Spread over 1.25 acres of area, the green belt will be developed at a cost of Rs. 60.15 lacs including all the facilities like walking track, children play equipments, huts, benches, dustbins, decorative and ornamental plants and colorful shrubs besides flower beds etc.
