Speaker Rana K.P.Singh dedicated first lift irrigation scheme to public

Today, hopes of the people are going to be fulfilled with initiating my dream project.
After accomplishing the Lift Irrigation Scheme, stage-wise, water for irrigation will be accessible throughout the Changar.

While fulfilling the demand of Public since decades, today the first scheme of my dream project has dedicated to the public. After accomplishing the stage-wise lift irrigation scheme at the cost of Rs.100 crore, the shortage of irrigation water will not remain in Changar. As we promised to the public of this area to make accessible the water, we are fulfilling the same.
While expressing the views, Speaker, Rana K.P.Singh revealed this at Thappal after launching first scheme of lift irrigation during a public gathering. He inaugurated the first scheme after switching on the motors and released the water supply to Changar. Whereby the people of Changar has expressed their happiness and raised slogans vehemently on this occasion.
Rana K.P. Singh stated that for decades the people of this area had been demanding water for irrigation, we had promised to fulfill their demand in the 2017 elections, this scheme was given approval in the first Vidhan Sabha session and funds were made available for this scheme in the budget. He said that I.I.T. and technical experts geographically accepted a big challenge and succeeded in the comprehensive plan by lifting the canal water upto the sub-hilly areas. He stated that though our Govt. accomplished many big projects for the development of this area but this Lift Irrigation Plan would prove a boom for the farmers of this semi-hilly area. He said that this is the biggest day of my life when this comprehensive scheme has been dedicated to the public and thousands of people have become happy. This scheme which will give impetus to the economy of the farmers will prove to be a big step in strengthening the economy of this area. He stated that prosperity and greenery would come back here. He said that the officials of the Irrigation Dept. have made efforts day and night to complete this project by stages. The people of the area have also supported us, we are committed to fulfill every promise made to the people. He said that the people of this area will further flourish, the farmers by going with the tides, by adopting crop diversification would grow profit yielding crops and there would not be any shortage of water. He said that today the people of this area have celebrated this day as a festival, because since the past 70 years the hope with which the people of the area were waiting for water has been fulfilled.

On this occasion Harbans Lal Mehdili, Chairman, Market Committee, Ramesh Chander Dasgrain, Chairman, District Planning Board, Hakeem Harminderpal Singh Minhas, Chaudhary Pahoo Lal, Kuldeep Singh Banga including Panchs and Sarpanchs of various villages and hundred of people of Changar village were also present. Gurpritpal Singh, Executive Engineer, Irrigation, Roopnagar told that first phase has completed today, water has been started for irrigation. The work on second phase of lift irrigation is in fall swing. He told that as per guidelines of the Punjab Government and directions of Rana K.P. Singh, Speaker, these projects are being completed continuously whereby the water will reach through-out the village Dipansu Sharma, S.D.O, Amaljeet Singh, S.D.O., Ketan Sharma, J.E., Jaspreet Singh, Parminder Singh and other officers were also present.
